Sustainability

At KLOQ, we prioritize sustainability and are committed to minimizing our ecological footprint and reducing our impact on the world.

Our clocks are made from materials like FSC-certified wood and 3D-printed components, allowing us to produce according to demand, eliminating the need to maintain large inventories. We work as much as possible with local suppliers who share our values and are committed to sustainable production methods.

These mainly come from the Netherlands, and other materials and components are brought to the Netherlands from European soil to keep CO2 emissions from transport as low as possible.

Because we use wood for our products, we also try to take responsibility for it. That's why we plant one tree for every clock sold. We do this with our current partner , Trees.org . At Trees, they plant trees in collaboration with local (Sub-Saharan) communities who benefit enormously from the increased biodiversity, rich soil, and shade provided by the trees in their fields. The most visible result: parents who use the additional revenue to, among other things, give their children the opportunity to go to school.

3D printed objects
Our 3D-printed objects are made from PLA, which is made from a mix of lactic acid from corn and sugarcane.
Another advantage of 3D prints is that they are made to order, eliminating the need for transportation and maintaining large inventories. Our studio/workshop is also equipped with 12 solar panels to generate green energy for our 3D printers, among other things.

We believe in the importance of transparency and therefore we regularly publish information about our production processes and our impact on the environment.
